Heidi's great adventure

Heidi had one of the great adventures of her life this evening. She got to walk around the town square. She got to see lots of little children who wanted to pet her. She got to smell smells, hear noises, etc. that she had never encountered before. She met a dog who looked as big as a pony. They touched noses. Then she got to sit in the car as the Christmas parade came by. That part she did not like. There were sirens, bells, whistles and lots of lights. There was a marching band. I think the band is what did her in. She dived on the floor board of the back seat and never came out again.
When we got home, she just sat in the middle of the floor looking stunned. Then she ate her supper with gusto and has napped almost continually since.
Mini Weenies have their limits, you know.

I'M SOOOOO COLD

Something happened yesterday. It got cold. I don't like it. I want it to go away.
Mommy stuck a sweater on me this morning to make me feel better. Can't she see? It's too little. I must have grown since I had it on last spring.
She just needs to sit in one spot and let me curl up in her lap and stay warm. That is what she is for. She is so hard to keep trained. Sometimes I am at my wits end. Just when I get all curled up and snuggly, she wants to get up and do laundry, eat, smoke, get the phone or some other unnecessary thing.
Sometimes, I am just dead for sleep and she goes in the garage, and I have to get out of my nice warm bed and follow her to make sure she behaves. I don't know what she would do if I didn't watch her constantly.
Are there any other animals that own people and have learned to train them? I need tips. I have called for help in the past and so far no response. Am I blogging into thin air? Do you know how hard it is for a mini weenie to blog in the first place?
Hello, hello, hello. Is anybody out there? Can anybody hear me?

Vet Visit

Yesterday Heidi went to the vet for her monthly heartworm, weigh in and nail clipping. She weighed 10 lbs again. Looks like that might be her weight for awhile. I certainly don't want her to weigh more.
I took her to the nursing home later and she could stand it better this time. She ran around the the room and sniffed everything up. She barked a few times, but didn't get out of hand. One old lady walked by and told her she wasn't going to bother her. What she didn't understand is that Heidi wanted to be bothered. She barks at people so they will notice her.
When the aide brought Daddy's tray in, Heidi tried to follow her out. It surprised me. The aide has 2 dogs at home, so maybe she thought there were some playmates somewhere around. That or the fact she was bringing food to the room, maybe Heidi thought she was going to get some too. I know for a fact, these little things work for food. That is the way to their heart.
Yep, living with this thing is a lot like having a husband.

Worn out Weenie

Somebody is so tired tonight, she can hardly move. Heidi couldn't make her own blog tonight if she had to.
She had to watch all "her" doors being painted today. She could not relax for a minute. She started "watching" early this morning and couldn't let up till late afternoon. Then, she had to get rid of some aggression by running around the house like a banshee or bat out of hell. She ate and drank and sank down on a pillow and has only moved to change her napping position a few times. I hope she survives the paint job. It is a good thing it ends tomorrow morning after a final walk thru inspection.
Next, I need my fence repaired. At least it isn't as up close and personal as the house painting.

She is no watch dog

Heidi has had a lot of excitement the last few days. I have contracted to have my house painted and she got to meet a new man. I told him she wouldn't bite as I brought her outside so we could walk around and discuss what had to be done. He assured me he had been bitten by lots of dogs that "don't bite". But we have already established she is EASY where men are concerned so she was true to form.
Yesterday I put her in her pen as I was going to run out of town for several hours while they pressure washed my house. She was out of it when I got home. She probably had to escape and hide in her safe place behind the recliner.
She ran out the back door earlier when they were setting up to wash the house. She flew around the corner and there was a man she hadn't met. She came back around to me at a dead run, I opened the back door and she was a blur getting back in "her" house. So much for the watch dog in her.

MY SHAME

I must confess, I have a very, very bad habit. I have tried to stop it because it is so destructive, but I can't control myself. Soon I will not have anymore stuffed toy friends left to play with. They are disappearing one by one, and don't think I haven't noticed.
I play and play with my stuffed aminals, but one day I discovered if I ripped out their beady little eyes, I could tear out their brains and leave them deflated, helpless and vacant headed on the floor. Instead there are piles of polyfill to play with, and I tell you, that stuff is no fun. It won't even squeak. Mommy can't throw it, so I can fetch it. Please, somebody, anybody, help me before I kill again.
